2024: what’s in store for Ambion?

As 2024 gains pace, let’s look forward to some of our infrared heating plans for the year ahead. This includes industry events Ambion will be attending, as well as some of our latest updates around our infrared heat panels, covering award nominations, industry consultations, partner agreements and complementary new products.

Out and about in 2024

Let’s begin with the line-up of exciting exhibitions and events we have planned. We always welcome the opportunity to meet and hear from industry decision-makers face-to-face, and while our schedules are already getting busy, we’re especially looking forward to the following events.

We’ll be attending all of these for the very first time in 2024, and can’t wait to shine a spotlight on the efficiencies and environmental credentials of low carbon infrared heat panels for homes.

  • Housing Industry Link North West
6 February, The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester

A pioneering housing event that promises to bring together industry professionals, decision-makers and stakeholders, its goal is to find innovative solutions for meeting the North West’s net zero ambitions. With 20 speakers lined up and 35 workshops planned, we’re looking forward to meeting and hearing from experts and industry leaders in the field of social housing and construction.

  • Futurebuild 2024
    5-7 March, ExCeL London

Only a few months away, Futurebuild 2024 is approaching fast. Dedicated to building a better future for the built environment, Futurebuild is highly respected for championing innovation, sustainability and collaboration across the industry. Because the exhibition so closely aligns with Ambion’s mission, we’re especially excited to be attending the event for the first time this year. With nearly 18,000 visitors in 2023, and 75% of those attending to discover new innovations, we can’t wait to showcase the low-carbon opportunities available with infrared heating panels.

  • 2024 World of Park & Leisure Homes Show
27-30 June, NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire

Providing South England’s biggest collection of park and leisure homes, the event gives visitors the chance to discuss the latest developments, innovations and products for this market. Set against the beautiful countryside backdrop of the grounds of NAEC Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, it’s well worth a trip for those looking to immerse themselves in park home living, whether for leisure or residential purposes.

  • The Housing Community Summit
    9-10 September, ACC Liverpool

A brand new event from both the National Housing Federation and the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Housing Community Summit intends to establish itself as ‘the most collaborative event in housing’.  More details will be announced in due course, but it plans to bring together the housing sector’s biggest stakeholders, the UK’s most influential politicians, and housing leaders and practitioners to help shape the future of social housing.

Prize-winning innovations

We’re thrilled to be shortlisted for the 2024 Housing Digital Innovation Awards, in the category of ‘Most Innovative Retrofit or Refurbishment Scheme’ with Yorkshire Housing.

In August 2023, Yorkshire Housing announced it was investing £200,000 in a pilot project to trial our technology in 30 of its homes.

Replacing inefficient and costly electric panel heaters, the properties will benefit in a number of ways. From a more economical low wattage, to a slim and minimalist design, infrared heating is the ideal solution for these houses.

With the results announced at a celebratory evening at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham on 8 February, we’ll be hoping to claim first prize with Yorkshire Housing – keep your fingers crossed!

Shaping the standard of future homes

The 6 March is a notable date for our industry, as that’s when the consultation for the Future Homes Standard closes. As the move towards improving the energy efficiency and reducing the carbon emissions of new homes gains pace, we’re pleased to see the government seeking views on changes to Part 6, Part L and Part F of the Building Regulations for dwellings.

The consultation sets out the government’s plans for achieving the Future Homes Standard, plus technical proposals for changes to the Building Regulations, the associated Approved Document guidance and calculation methods.

If you’re a member of the industry, it’s vital that you review these plans and make your voice heard. We’ll certainly be responding, and intend to share our views with you all soon.

Don’t delay – have your say in the Future Homes Standard consultation before 6 March.

Valued partner agreements

As 2024 gets underway, we’re also looking forward to building on the success of our latest partner agreements with the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) and the Landlords National Purchasing Group (LNPG). We’ll be working closely with both their members to demonstrate how properties can be easily and efficiently upgraded to infrared heat panels.

From exploring the potential for heat panels in conventional housing stock in conservation areas with the CLA, to outlining why our technology keeps both tenants and landlords happy and healthy with the LNPG, there are real gains to be made for both audiences.

Powerful complementary products

Finally, 2024 sees the start of several strengthened relationships for Ambion, as we forge closer bonds with a number of powerful complementary products.

On this note, we’re delighted to announce Ambion’s involvement in a new home trial in Devon with Powervault. The house has been fully equipped with our low carbon heat panels and Powervault’s smart solar battery system, with the results of the winter trial expected soon. Solar, smart batteries and infrared heating make for the perfect technology partners.
