Last month, Ambion Heating had the pleasure of hosting the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, at the world-leading Energy House 2.0 at the University of Salford. During his tour, the Mayor was given a first-hand look at Ambion’s pioneering infrared heating solution, which is being trialled within the Bellway Homes’ “Future Home.”

As one of the key innovations being tested in the facility, our infrared panel and dynamic control system provides a direct electric solution for properties where heat pumps may not be a viable option, such as flats and maisonettes. A recent study by Bellway Homes confirmed our system is an “ideal solution” for these homes.

Our technology is more than just an innovation; it’s a proven, scalable solution already in use in over 2,000 homes for social housing associations and local authorities across the country. Our CEO, Oliver Baker, commented:

“Our mission is to help decarbonise flats, maisonettes and small terraced social housing and ensure everyone benefits from the transition to low-carbon, lower-cost heating. Being part of Energy House 2.0 in Bellway Homes’ Future Home has allowed us to rigorously test our infrared system in a world-class setting and we are proud to be contributing to Greater Manchester’s retrofit revolution.”

This is a powerful testament to what can be achieved when government, research, and industry come together to find practical solutions for a sustainable future.
